MM Entreprenør of Tommerup, a Danish company with extensive experience in roadwork and soil stabilization, has recently undergone a fleet renewal to enhance its operational efficiency.
The company has purchased a lime-spreading attachment, two Valtra S416 tractors, and a fully equipped FAE STABI/H/HP-250 stabilizer, supplied by Special Maskiner A/S, FAE’s dealer in Denmark.
"Our 420 HP Valtra tractors are the perfect match for the STABI/H," says Michael Larsen of MM Entreprenør. "With this combination, we can work up to 56 centimeters deep, ensuring exceptional performance even oon the most demanding jobs. Thanks to this new fleet, we are completely self-sufficient and able to handle any stabilization project, both for ourselves and for third parties", says Michael Larsen.
"Environmental sustainability is a core value at MM Entreprenør. We believe in reusing materials”, says Michael Larsen.
“By stabilizing the most challenging soils with lime and reusing them on-site, we reduce the need for transportation, saving fuel and CO2 emissions”.
MM Entreprenør's new STABI/H was immediately put to the test at a construction site in Ringe, located near Tommerup. The project, commissioned by Jordrens Syd A/S, involved stabilizing approximately 10,000 square meters of soil to complete a soil treatment plant. This plant, serving a large area, receives soil from all over Funen and the surrounding islands. MM Entreprenør's work accounted for approximately a quarter of the total area of the new plant.
"The debut of our soil stabilization machines was a huge success! With lime always at hand thanks to the spreading attachment, we were able to work very efficiently. In fact, the new STABI/H works so well that sometimes we struggle to keep up with the lime spreading", says Michael Larsen.
Also appreciated was the optional FCS automatic water injection system and the matched reporting capability.
"The decision to choose a tractor-mounted FAE stabilizer was driven by the need for a robust machine with larger dimensions compared to self-propelled units available on the market. We particularly appreciated the flexibility offered by the tractor, allowing us to leverage its power for various applications beyond stabilization, ensuring optimal performance in all working conditions", explains Michael.
Lennart Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, director of Special Maskiner and supplier of the FAE stabilizer to MM Entreprenør, is convinced that lime-based soil stabilization is poised for a bright future.
"This technique is already widely used abroad, and FAE is an undisputed leader in the sector", he states. "From an environmental standpoint, it's a winning choice: reusing soil on-site, rather than transporting it over long distances, is more sustainable and cost-effective".
Michael Larsen of MM Entreprenør shares this vision: “By including stabilization in our service portfolio, we can operate throughout the country, working with both lime and cement. Our STABI/H is versatile and enables us to tackle any project".
