New BL5/EX/VT

FAE is expanding its line of forestry mulchers for excavators with Bite Limiter technology with the new BL5/EX/VT. This new head is perfect for handling and removing vegetation in wooded areas, especially for jobs that require a large shredding capacity and speed.

The BL5/EX/VT can mulch logs up to 40 cm in diameter,
works with 24-36 ton excavators, and has a working width of 160 cm.

The BL5/EX/VT's best feature is the rotor with Bite Limiter technology. It has special wear-resistant steel profiles that limit the teeth's reach.  This cuts down on power demand and promotes a consistent working speed, for excellent performance when mulching any kind of wood. Bite Limiter technology also minimizes rotor stalling and optimizes fuel consumption.

The BL5/EX/VT has a Variable Torque (VT) motor for noticeably better performance. It increases torque when needed to minimize rotor stalling. The sturdy steel frame is built to last, just like all FAE products, and the BL5/EX/VT's Poly Chain belt drive provides optimal power transfer and reliability.

The BL5/EX/VT can be equipped with the Sonic system - available only from FAE - which keeps the operating machine and the FAE mulcher perfectly aligned by automatically calibrating the mulcher.
The system continuously manages the mulcher's hydraulic settings as well, for a significant boost in overall productivity of up to 30%.

The Sonic system also minimizes rotor stalling and shortens recovery time thanks to quick recovery of rotor rpm. This head can also be equipped with a hydraulic thumb to make it easier to handle the material on the ground.

The addition of the BL5/EX/VT completes FAE's line of forestry mulchers for excavators with Bite Limiter technology, which now goes from 4 tons, with the BL1/EX, to 36 tons, with its newest machine.
