GCE Forestry is a privately-owned Australian company active in forestry management and land clearing. Based in Brisbane, the company has four employees and operates in South East Queensland.
GCE Forestry was established with the purpose of providing quality land management solutions to landowners, land developers and rural/domestic customers. Their mission is to help landowners efficiently utilize their land’s full potential without the use of chemicals.
Tom, head of operations at GCE Forestry, explained how they work.
“We are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, specially designed to eradicate & mulch vegetation by shredding the vegetation to small chips, leaving a nutrient rich layer that provides a barrier to prevent soil erosion & degradation.
This is why we need the best machines out there, and FAE was the only possible solution for us! We have engaged some of the latest technologies within our fleet, and we rely on FAE machines, as they are the best. We own an FAE UML/SSL with a hydraulic cooler, which we use with our John Deere 333G, and a brand-new FAE RCU75 remote controlled tracked carrier, which is absolutely the best over steep gradients.
We love the versatility of these machines: they are well suited for working in hilly and wooded areas, near roads, highways, railroad tracks, canals, rivers and lakes, and along power lines, gas lines and oil pipelines.

GCE Forestry is currently working on many land maintenance projects around Brisbane, such as fire load maintenance and land clearing, using all of their FAE machines.

Tom emphasized that protecting the environment is key at GCE Forestry.
“We like to promote a style of forestry clearing that is environmentally friendly & chemical free, removing the necessity for harsher, older styles of land clearing which would result in bare earth being exposed. There is no need for any removal or waste fees & there is no need for unnecessary burn off vegetation piles. The remaining mulch is 100% biodegradable & nutrient rich”.
As Tom mentioned before, GCE Forestry operates in difficult environments, particularly over steep gradients. How does the RCU75 help in this case?
“With the FAE RCU75 remote controlled tracked carrier, there are no big burn piles left over in the end. Everything’s on the floor,” said Tom. “The machine works on steep slopes up to 55°, and everything is safe and easy. You can shred branches and wood pieces, grass, shrubs and evenstumps. We received our RCU75 in October 2023 and never stopped working with it!”
